The water level has been extremely low in Lake Ontario this summer. Many people are upset because their boats can't go places they want to.
Part of the reason is for the relatively dry summer, but more pertinent is the people at the locks and dams that either let too much out or don't let enough in. Without a boat it doesn't affect me as much as boaters and skiiers (how do you spell that word)?
We are getting precipitation now and I expect the level will be somewhere near normal by spring. However it is fascinating to see how far below the old level is has fallen. I have seen it go far above and more often close to normal.
