-does anyone "keep" the Sabbath? -does anyone NOT break any of the Sabbath rules each Sabbath?
Is there anyone here at MSDA online that either keeps any of the Commandments or knows someone that is not breaking the Commandments?

Which are the sabbath rules?
Galatians 2 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
It is so hazardous to take here a little and there a little. If you put the right little's together you can make the bible teach anything you wish. //Graham Maxwell

Interesting questions. No man is without sin. I believe that as one grows in God and Christ that they can and will keep the Sabbath the way it was intended and written how to keep in the Bible. Christ gave us the example of how to keep all the Commandments of God did He not.
Did Christ not totally rely upon God for everything. Once we understand that we must rely upon the Father for evereything and then totaly rely on Him and give Him our free will choice that we will keep all the Commandments of God.
As Paul put it "I die daily" So instead of looking at others we must look at ourselves. Am I doing what God has preordained that I should walk?
Peace and Grace David
The greatest want of the world is the want of men-- men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.

I have a question regarding a reference about Sabbath that I am hoping someone can help me with. I do not have all the books or an index, but have tried to search the online data base with no success either.
Does anyone know if/ where Mrs. White says that health care workers need to give the money they earn working on Sabbath to missions?
Thanks, Eunice

My wife used to work at Branson Hospital in Ontario and remembers something about their Sabbath earnings being used for something like this, however, she can't remember if this was the result of anything from the writings of EGW, or whether this was from other church sources.
This would be something worth being researched further.

I did finally find a reference to this. The statement specifically says physicians. It comes from a pamphlet written to administrators and physician administrators and is reprimanding them getting too big for their britches (it mentions insisting on having their own way in everything and swaying other workers to their position, then causing division and encouraging workers to learve). In the context, it makes sense to me that if you are in a position where you earn large amounts and have power and influence that giving extra would be a spiritual antidote to this, but I am having trouble seeing that this would apply to any health worker who had Sabbath shifts.
Does anyone have any other ideas about this?

This may be the reference you are looking for? Physicians need to cultivate a spirit of self-denial and self-sacrifice. It may be necessary to devote even the hours of the holy Sabbath to the relief of suffering humanity. But the fee for such labor should be put into the treasury of the Lord, to be used for the worthy poor, who need medical skill but cannot afford to pay for it.--Health, Philanthropic, and Medical Missionary Work, page 42. {MM 216.2}

A principle is found here in the text I quoted, which would also apply to any and all health workers working on the Sabbath in hospitals, nursing homes, etc.

If we follow that principle, the only Adventists working on the Sabbath will be those who are truly doing it to help suffering humanity. Those who are faking it would not take the shift.
BTW, there's another quote somewhere that says we should get non-Adventists to take the Sabbath shifts, if possible.
By God's grace, Arnold
There is no excuse for any one in taking the position that there is no more truth to be revealed, and that all our expositions of Scripture are without an error. The fact that certain doctrines have been held as truth for many years by our people, is not a proof that our ideas are infallible. Age will not make error into truth, and truth can afford to be fair. No true doctrine will lose anything by close investigation. RH 12/20/1892
