I have a question on the following quote from Testimonies To Ministers And Gospel Workers, page 407 which says:

Can anybody tell me what Ellen White meant when she said that the devil is moved by a power from beneath?

Are there any other texts bringing forth this idea?

I would think that one needs to look at other quotes which say similar ideas to get a well rounded picture.

I think these are pretty self-explanatory. It talks about a power, which is singular... the only one.

The Bible and SOP talk about only one evil power, and identifies that power as satan.

It doesn't seem like Satan would be moved by Satan. Is it talking about selfishness, the power of evil?

That is a good question, Bob.

Wasn't Christ accused of that?

And what was Christ's response?

Isn't satan the ONLY evil power in this universe?

Or is the Bible and SOP wrong and there is more than one??

There obviously isn't another evil power as it seems to me that the devil was referred to as the author of sin, was he not?

Doesn't it say that when the devil and his angels and all the wicked are burned up, that will be the end of sin in the universe??

Now, what if there is an evil spirit still loose someplace???

And, BTW, WHERE IS "BENEATH"?????

There is obviously no other devil, however, that is a good question on where beneath is.

The way I see Satan and his angels is quite to the contrary.......They hate each other:

The evil ones are united in only one intrest....the fall of man. Satan is the author of hate/sin/lies/distruction.....and with satan and his evil angels there is no love, like or tolerance between them.

This following quote projects this saying to our times, the time of the spreading of the "Three angels Message". It seems me that "the power from beneath " simply means anything that comes against God and His truth that is in Jesus. We also know that the devil and all the evil he has made to come agains God would be this power. If this power is in Men of the world...it is from beneath, because it originates in evil and Satan. Like Jesus said "Whoever is not with me is against me? and Satan is against Him and if we/world is against Him we/world are with Satan and his evil angels and join the power from beneath.
