Lesson 11 LIVING BY FAITH
"We are to make trusting and following God our first priority; otherwise, we will make something else that priority, which is idolatry, pure and simple. And we can learn to trust God only by living a life of faith. The Christian walk is just that, a walk; we have to make the choices to do the things that the Lord has told us to do, and then leave the consequences to Him." {From Saturday's Reading}
Texts to consider:
Pro. 28:4 Those who forsake the law praise the wicked,
But such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Evil men do not understand justice, But those who seek the Lord understand all.
6 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity
Than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7 Whoever keeps the law is a discerning son,
9 One who turns away his ear from hearing the law,
Even his prayer is an abomination.
13 He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
14 Happy is the man who is always reverent,
But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool,
But whoever walks wisely will be delivered.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
