Just found out last night she has toxemia. They kepther in overnight again, and are talking about inducing labor. She has only 2 weeks 'til her due date so they feel the baby will be ok if they have to doit. Please pray for her andthe doctors as they work to alleviate this problem. Correction, just got a call, they are taking the baby cesarean (sp), she gained 8 pounds since yesterday and she is dialated with a rock hard cervix. doctor said he's never seen anything like this. They are taking the baby as I post. please pray that there are no more complications, they hinted she might hemoraghe, and if so, she told them that is the only way to stop it is to remove the uterous (sp?) do it. Thank you, Gerry [This message has been edited by Gerry Buck (edited March 18, 2001).]

Praise the Lord!!! How exciting! I was pretty sure she had toxemia from your first post. Thank you Jesus for bringing them through this serious situation safely. Give her big loves and hugs from my family to hers. Wendy --------------- Maranatha!!!

We went up to see her tonight. I almost didn't recognize her, she gained a lot of weight during this pregnancy. From Fri. night to Sat. morning, she gained 8 pounds. She is a lot bigger than I remember her being before this, and they cut her from just below the diaphram to just above the pelvis. She also had a hernia around the navel they had to repair. She is hurting a lot, and really needs our prayers.

Oh no Gerry! That sounds terrible. Did they do the hysterectomy, or just a verticle c-section? They don't hardly do those anymore. I had two c-sections, the bikini incisions, and those were tremendously difficult to recover from. Oh, please let her know my heart goes out to her. I hope she will feel well soon, so she can enjoy baby. When you are in so much pain, alot of the joy of the birth is muffled. Dear heavenly Father, we know that Stephanie has had a very difficult delivery. We praise your name that she is safely through it and she and the baby are okay. Take away her pain and suffering and leave her only with the joy of her new baby boy. May her recovery be quick so that she can be the best mother she can be. Surround her with your angels and with your love Lord and help her to know how much we love and care for her, even though we may not have met her, our hearts are still joined to hers. I thank you for answering my prayers Lord, Amen.

She had the vertical incision as she had a hernia on or near the naval (sp?) She is also going to have a problem with weight, the toxemia caused a surge in weight gain towards the end. She gained 8 pounds in about 12 hours. Mostly water, it appears, as her legs and feet are really swollen and she has some in the hands and arms as well. I ask your continued prayer for her and her baby especially over the next 4-6 weeks. Her mom and I will be helping themm as much as we can , but, we need prayer that God will give us strength and wisdom to help in the best way possible. I think this will be a way Steph and I can especially witness to her mother ( my beautiful wife ) and maybe win her over. Thank you all very much. Go with God..

Most of the weight gained from toxemia is due to water retention, so once Stephanie's chemical balance is restored, she should lose that quickly. Sounds like she & the baby are out of the woods. Now it is only a matter of time for her system to throw off the poisons and get back to normal. And by the way, Congratulations Grandpa! We expect to see another adorable baby picture appearing here soon! ------------------ The Lord is the strength of my life and my portion forever.

HELLO ALL!!!!! I just wanted to let y'all know that we are home and doing well. I will be getting the staples out from the c-sec. on Monday. I have decided to breastfeed him. The last couple of days, he has not been too thrilled about eating at certain times. He gets "mad" at me... I know he is just frustrated, but it makes me feel bad sometimes. Angie has been a great help to me thru this tho....I ask her for help and she helps me.... THANKS ANGE!!! Anyway, I had to give him some formula to get him to eat this afternoon.....I didn't really want to, but I felt that was best considering how hungry he was and that he just wasn't latching on. Also, the pediatrician said that he has started to become jaundiced. I have to watch that....that is another reason I gave him the formula. I will keep y'all updated as new info comes in....Take care and God bless each of you.... Oh, one more thing, hearing your baby take those first breaths and hearing him cry is the most wonderful sound in the world. While I was kind of expecing a girl this time, I wouldn't change my precious son for a million girls! And, after looking at the face of my beautiful baby, I came to the realization of the wonderful gift that we were given by our Lord. I know that I couldn't give up my child's life for anyone...I would give my own life, but not my son's. That our Lord sent His Son for us is the most AWESOME gift anyone could give. I guess, once you become a parent, you realize these things more clearly, huh?
------------------ HE is coming SOON! Stephanie

Stephanie, I am thankful that things have turned out well for you and your new son. Congratulations. Glad to know you're breast feeding. You won't regret it. It's a wonderful experience. You're right, there is nothing like it. I don't regret breastfeeding Jesse or Amber, now. It was the best thing for Jesse, he grew SO fast and well! Amber is really thriving on it, too. I think she's gained at least a pound and a half. I thank God every day for my little ones. They truly are gifts from God. And, Steph, I agree, I couldn't give my children's lives, but I would give my life for them in less than a heartbeat. Anytime you need help, Steph, let me know. ------------------ God bless! Angie
