What does the Bible say about church attendance?
Is church attendance important, a necessity, or what?

One Bible text that immediately comes to my mind is this one: quote:
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
This, to me, is obviously referring to meeting or assembling together. Isn't that what we do in church in our day, meet and assemble together?
Why do you suppose it is written in the negative sense in the above verse?
