One of the first things I do every day after waking up is to check e-mail. It's nice to have a few items relating to Him to Whom we belong waiting in the inbox every morning.

• Heartlight.org will send a daily Bible verse by e-mail, with a short reflection on the verse and a prayer, for free. To sign up, go to

• The Ellen G. White Estate will send a Spirit of Prophecy Thought for the Day or an SOP Devotional (or both) by e-mail. To sign up, go to

and look about halfway down the page, on the left-hand side.

• I like to reflect on our Maker by looking at His creations out in the cosmos. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork." Psalms 19:1. One good place to see His works on display is at NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day site,

While this site doesn't offer to send daily e-mail reminders, you can set up your own by going to EZ-Reminders at

There you can set up an account, and arrange to have free e-mail reminders sent to your inbox. (regarding just about anything, for that matter...I use it to send myself reminders to visit certain sites on a regular basis, when those sites don't send out e-mail bulletins or reminders themselves.)
