F2B, do you have references to support what you just posted? Where does it say we will not necessarily be sinless, that wanting to be sinless and trying to be sinless is sufficient for Jesus to admit us to heaven?

What if it did, would you do anything about it? What if God expected you to be able to give a biblical reason for what you hold to be truth? Would you study to show yourself approved?

2 Timothy
2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1 Peter
3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Is that your answer? That's another question, not an answer.

Through the apostle John, Jesus said it best. Here it is:

1 John
1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

MM: I am looking for a serious and sincere answer to my question. I think it's a very simple question, there's no hidden agenda, it's not a trick question, and it's not a loaded question. The question is simple, but I'm not sure why you won't answer me. You keep asking me more questions. It's possible you don't have an answer, and that's alright. You don't have to claim to have an answer to every question, you've said as much yourself. But I do think you should admit it if you don't have no answer. Otherwise, please answer my question, or stop wasting my time.

Does the bible or SOP say specifically that one MUST quote from the bible or SOP when speaking of spiritual things? That's my question for you? You want me to leave a quote with every response I give, but I don't believe that God mandates that, even though you give that impression. So, once again, do I have to quote something everytime we talk about God, Adventism, or spirituality?

And please, if you are not going to say "yes, (and here's why...)", or "no (and here's why....), then please just don't respond to this question at all. I don't think it's productive to just go round and round when you are unwilling to give an answer. Thanks in advance.

F2B: No, does that make me wrong?

No, you are entitled to say or believe whatever you want to. And I'm sorry you got the impression I believe you must support your beliefs with inspired insights every time you state them.

This is a Bible study forum, however, and I must admit I have become accustomed to studying with people with who support their beliefs from the Bible and the SOP. You made a claim that took me by surprise, and I was simply curios as to where it came from.

If it is something you belief simply because it makes sense to you, and you cannot support it from the Bible or SOP, then fair enough. You have satisfied my curiosity. It would be nice if I could verify what you believe in the Bible or the SOP, but if it cannot be done, then I'm not sure it would make sense for me to believe it, too.

It is rather nice to have something to substantiate one's opinion or belief. How you reached it?

It seems to me that scripture and SOP seem to indicate that we should be able to give an answer from scripture for our beliefs.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. 1 Peter 3:15.

 Quote:
Maranatha (1976), page 253, paragraph 2
Chapter Title: Witnessing Before the Great Men of the Earth

Kings, governors, and great men will hear of you through the reports of those who are at enmity with you, and your faith and character will be misrepresented before them. But those who are falsely accused will have an opportunity to appear in the presence of their accusers to answer for themselves. They will have the privilege of bringing the light before those who are called the great men of the earth, and if you have studied the Bible, if you are ready to give an answer to every man that asketh you of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear, your enemies will not be able to gainsay your wisdom.
 Quote:
The Church Officers' Gazette, September 1, 1914, paragraph 8
Article Title: Consecrated Efforts to Reach Unbelievers

"Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." The fear here spoken of does not mean distrust or indecision, but with due caution, guarding every point, lest an unwise word be spoken, or excitement of feeling get the advantage, and thus leave unfavorable impressions upon minds, and balance them in the wrong direction. Godly fear, humility, and meekness are greatly needed by all, in order to represent correctly the truth for this time.
 Quote:
The Youth's Instructor , February 19, 1879, paragraph 4
Article Title: Necessity of Thorough Bible Study.

The apostle says, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be thoroughly furnished unto all good works." If, therefore, you would be thus thoroughly furnished, and "ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear," study the Bible with all diligence.
